The way that you measure a window is to take 3 horizontal measurements and 3 vertical measurements. Please print out the measurement worksheet to track your measurements.

  1. Measure from the top left to top right inside of the window frame.
  2. Measure from the middle left to the middle right inside of the window frame.
  3. Measure from the bottom left to the bottom right inside of the window frame.
  4. Take the shortest of the 3 measurements as your window width.
  5. Measure from the left top to left bottom inside of the window frame.
  6. Measure from the middle top to the middle bottom inside of the window frame.
  7. Measure from the right top to the right bottom inside of the window frame.
  8. Take the shortest of the 3 measurements as your window height.

It will depend upon whether you will need the vertical blind to fit on the inside of the window or door frame or whether you want it on the outside of the window or door frame. For the inside of the window or door frame you will need 3 horizontal measurements of the top, middle and the bottom of the frame (see question above). You will also need to make a vertical measurement from top to bottom of the frame. If the vertical blind is to cover the window or door frame you will need to make the measurements cover the window or door frame to your liking.
